Junior Achievement Spotlight Volunteer:
Brenda Mougin, US Bank
Denise Mougin, CorVel Corporation

Volunteers Brenda Mougin from US Bank and Denise Mougin from CorVel Corporation are both in their third year of volunteering for Junior Achievement at Clear Creek Elementary in Oxford. The two sister-in-laws have taught 15 classes in three years!

Both Brenda and Denise started by volunteering for each of their daughter’s classrooms. Brenda admits it evolved into much, much more. She feels that each class she teaches is unique and while teaching, encourages the students to interact throughout each of the sessions. One of her most rewarding experiences is reading the thank you notes from the students after finishing a class. She says “Knowing what a difference JA makes keeps me coming back year after year!”

Denise agrees that it is a rewarding experience. She finds that as each new class begins the students are always so eager to learn and as they progress through their sessions look forward to her coming back class after class!

Another factor that makes volunteering for JA a rewarding experience for the Mougins is the personal satisfaction they each receive. Brenda feels that she gets as much from the kids as they get from the program. In the same regard, Denise once considered a career in teaching but opted for nursing instead. She feels that this experience allows her to fulfill the desire to teach while experiencing the joy she receives in working with children.

Brenda and Denise thoroughly enjoy the relationship with the teachers they have worked with. JA thanks the Mougins for the Mania they’ve helped to create at CCA.
