Volunteers
|
Our goal as an organization is to better serve the community, and support it with an educated future workforce. In return, we require the support of the community so we can continue as an organization. This includes finding volunteers from the community who are willing to go into the classrooms. It also means finding business professionals who are willing to serve as board members and support the administrative side of Junior Achievement. And support must also come from businesses and individuals that realize the importance of starting economic and business education early on and continuing it through all grade levels. They not only donate their time and money: they invest in the future of our community.
What Does that Mean for You?

JA Job Shadow 2008 800-900 middle and high school students exploring career options? Absolutely! JA Job Shadow 2008 will allow middle and high school students to shadow a business professional based on the career pathway with which the student aligns. This opportunity encourages the students to consider if the career is really what they had in mind and helps them prepare to take classes in high school that will move them toward their career goals. More than 125 business will participate in the 2-hour job shadow experiences that take place on April 11th, 25th and May 14th.

We would also like to thank this years business sponsors, Yellow Book USA and Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, for making this incredible experience possible for the students in Eastern Iowa!
