Cedar Valley Area Scholarships



Cedar Valley Area Scholarships ONLY:

$750 Junior Achievement Company Program Scholarship:
One $750 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding high school student who has participated in the Junior Achievement Company Program. Students must be attending an accredited technical school, community college, or university to receive the award. Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2007.

Below are the guidelines and rules of application to Cedar Valley Area Scholarships.
The following application is designed to collect information about your background, interests and future plans. Your answers to these questions, as well as the required attachments for these scholarships, will be confidential. The selection of scholarship recipients will be influenced by the thoughtfulness and completeness of replies, neatness, legibility, proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. It is your responsibility to make sure your application is complete and submitted to our office by Friday, January 12, 2007.


Guidelines:
All applicants must return the following to the Junior Achievement office by January 12, 2007 to be considered for any scholarship offered through Junior Achievement:

  • Scholarhship Application (click here to download)
  • Essay
  • Copy of High School Transcript
  • Economics teacher recommendation (form included)
  • One letter of recommendation (NOT from Economics teacher or family member)

Students participating in JA as sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to apply. However, students who participate as sophomores must wait until their junior year to submit the application.

Students may apply for the scholarship only one time, and must be in, or have taken the Junior Achievement Company Program to apply.

Family members and your economics (JA) teacher cannot submit the letter of recommendation.

Finalists will be notified and required to attend a brief interview.

The recipient must submit written request to the Junior Achievement office in order to receive the scholarship money. The award will be made only through the Financial Aid Department at the college or university the recipient is attending. If written request is not received within three years from the date of the award letter, the scholarship will be forfeited.
