Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy

These three areas are the core pillars of the Junior Achievement programs. While a particular program may focus on 1 or 2, every program is developed to include all areas. So your students learn more than just the zones of a city, what currency is and the difference between debit and credit…they learn how to be vital members of a thriving and prosperous community!

JA Job Shadow 2008
800-900 middle and high school students exploring career options?  Absolutely!  JA Job Shadow 2008 will allow middle and high school students to shadow a business professional based on the career pathway with which the student aligns.  This opportunity encourages the students to consider if the career is really what they had in mind and helps them prepare to take classes in high school that will move them toward their career goals.  More than 125 business will participate in the 2-hour job shadow experiences that take place on April 11th, 25th and May 14th.

We would also like to thank this years business sponsors, Yellow Book USA and Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, for making this incredible experience possible for the students in Eastern Iowa!
